  Samoëns

The historic village of Samoëns is set at 700m in a wide sunny valley surrounded by seven dramatic mountain peaks. Samoëns is steeped in history and has managed to preserve its natural beauty and maintains many of its local traditions. It is the only ski resort in France to be classified as a ‘Nationale des Monuments Historiques’. Samoëns is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and is a thriving all year round village.

We were smitten by the ‘Samoëns Bug’ in 2002, while searching for a holiday home in the Alps . On seeing Samoëns we cancelled several appointments in other ski areas, having fallen in love with it at first sight. We signed on the dotted line and have holidayed here ever since. We now feel the time is right to share our version of paradise with others.

Samoëns is the ideal location for serious skiers, walkers or cyclists or for those who just want to snuggle up in front of the log fire, or laze in the hot tub whilst taking in the stunning views.

   Chalet Lamorna

Front view

Named after our favourite cove in Cornwall , Chalet Lamorna, which was completed in December 2008, is a traditionally built wooden chalet. It was built by local artisans and is finished to a very high standard. The chalet is owner run by Ian & Susan and will offer a flexible choice of Fully Catered, Semi-Catered and Bed & Breakfast.

On the lower ground floor is the owners’ apartment and an en-suite guest bedroom.

On the ground floor is the large, open plan living/dining area complete with leather sofas and a log fire. Entertainment includes TV with English freeview channels, DVD, Wii player, plenty of books, board games and table football. On this floor the is also a heated ski and boot room and separate cloakroom. From the living area there is access onto the large sunny balcony where the hot tub is situated, along with a seating area and table for outside dining.

On the upper floor there are three en-suite guest bedrooms all with balconies and a galleried seating area.

Location

The chalet is situated on the quiet sunny side of the valley on the edge of the village. The centre of the village is a gentle 10-15minute stroll away. The views from the chalet (including the hot tub) are truly stunning.

The ski bus stop is about 200m away, or we will be happy to provide a service to and from the gondola, which is a 3 minute drive away.
